Minnie the Maestro
Isn’t little Minnie fantastic?
Babies respond to music and rhythm as soon as they are born.
They like to be rocked when they are falling asleep or they enjoy listening to their mobile while lying in their cot — to babies, music can be soothing and calming.
Even at a very young age children are responsive to music — they start to bounce and clap to songs that they like and they may even start to cry if they hear songs that they don’t like
Music ignites all areas of child development:
Intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy.
It helps the body and the mind work together.
Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words.
Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression. For children and adults, music helps strengthen memory skills.
In addition to the other benefits of music, it also provides us with joy.
Just think about listening to a good song on the car radio with the window down on a beautiful day. That’s joy.
Giving your growing child the opportunity to learn to play an instrument is one of the best gift to give a child. Ruth Abbott takes children from 7 years of age for piano lesson.
Don’t forget to put some music on when you go to breastfeed, its so nice.
